Hope you have been safe and well over the last four months which has been tough and trying for all.
The good news is cricket is back and trials for Joondalup Districts Cricket Club commencing 1st August at Revolutions Sports as below:
The Winter Training and Selection Squad will be both a preseason training opportunity but will also help us determine our final playing and training squads for the 2020/21 season. All players invited will be there for 2 or 5 weeks (from Sat 1st August – 29th August) depending on their progress through the selection process..
Where: Revolution Sports (Lemnos St, Shenton Park)
When: Saturday 1st August – (Saturday sessions will continue throughout August depending on player progress)
Times:
- U13 – 9:00am – 10.30am – please be there for 8.30am registration and warm up.
- U14 – 10:30am – 11.30am – please be there for 10.00am registration and warm up
- U15 – 11:30am – 12.30pm – please be there for 11.00am registration and warm up
- U17 – 12:30pm – 2.00pm – please be there for 12.00pm registration and warm up
The Joondalup Districts Cricket Club is the only club in the Western Australian Cricket Association to be afforded the opportunity to field two teams in the junior district competition. Following the selection of the final squad, two individual teams will be selected by the end of August. Both teams are selected as evenly as possible based on cricket ability, work ethic and attitude. One team will play under the banner ‘Joondalup’, while the other team will play under the banner ‘Centurions’. Once the teams are selected, the teams are regarded as individual teams with players being unable to be interchanged, and they will play against each other during the season. Once final teams are selected pre-season team training will continue at a venue and times as determined by your team coach. The season traditionally commences with first games in October, however, due to impact of COVID and winter sports dates are yet to be determined and we will be update with commencement dates from the WACA closer to the time.
